IZINGCEZU ZENKULUMO

Okay so we've all been taught about Izingcezu Zenkulumo (Parts of Speech), or at least have an idea of what they are...but do we REALLY know what they are?

Okay so let me help. There are 6 main headings, namely:

1. Usobizo
2. Isichasiso
3. Isilandiso
4. Isikhanyiso
5. Isibabazo
6. Isihlanganiso

Asiyicubungule kahle-ke lento (Analysis by revealing sub-headings):

1. Usobizo  = igama elisebenza ngengomenzi noma umenziwa emshweni.

         * Ibizo   (noun)
         * Isabizwana 
                    - sokubala         (zonke, bonke, ngedwa, sonke etc.)
                    - sokukhomba   (lo, loya, loyaya)
                    - soqobo            (yena, bona, zona, thina)

2. Isichasiso  = igama eisichazela ngobunjalo buka sobizo / describes uSobizo

         * Isiphawulo : adjectives isib.  -ncane, -khulu, -fushane, -de, -ningi, -hle, -mbi etc.
               
         * Isibaluli : (usually colours) isib. elimhlophe, elimnyama,  elimnandi, ezimbalwa

         * Ongumnini : Lisitshela ngokuthi into ingekabani/yakhiwe ngani/ isetshenziselwani noma                                         kuphi/


         * Inani : (-ni, -nye, -phi, -mbe)
                      isib. Muntu muni ofike la?
                              Munye umuntu okhulume nami.

3. Isilandiso  = yigama elisilandisa ngokwenziwa uSobizo:

         * Isenzo (verb) : lisitshela ngokwenziwa usobizo
                                    isib. Umama uthethise umfowethu.

          * Isibanjalo : lisitshela ngobunjalo bento.
                     
                               Kusetshenziswa iziqalo: yi-, wu-, ng-
                               isib. Ubaba yibhubesi.            

4. Isikhanyiso  = igama elisikhanyisela ngokuthi isilandiso senziwe kanjani

         * Isandiso : sendawo, senkathi nesesimo

         * Isenzukuthi    
                              isib. UNonjie uhleli dekle akenzi lutho.

5. Isibabazo  = igama elikhombisa ukubabaza.

              Kungaba ukubabaza okuveza:
               - Injabulo (Halala! Ngcingci!)
               - Ukunengwa/Ukudinwa (Nxa!)
               - Ukunxesezela (Nxese! Phephisa!)
               - Ezokulwa (Ashila! Maluju!)
               -Ezokwenqaba (Cha! Chabo! Chabobo! Qhabo!)
                                                                                          ...etc

6. Isihlanganiso (conjunction)  = lihlanganisa imisho emibili

            isib. Geza izitsha anduba uyolala.
                    Qoqa izimpahla bese ukhipha izibi.
